"JobPool" - ability to commingle jobs with RPD

Sometimes customer have a need to merge jobs but need it to happen within an RPD workflow rather than being batched in the input device. Input files would come in to RPD from various sources and input devices and need to be commingled on the job level. Obviously, we could create documents and use docpool but that is a lot more processing and expense than is needed for this requirement. A JobPool would be helpful without having to do document level processing.
