Problem Statement
KRF (Raksul Japan) is building a highly automated production facility utilizing approximately 50 Pro C9500 devices with a goal of significantly reducing operator intervention. Current RPD functionality cannot fully support the required workflow.
The requested enhancement would allow RPD to:
Route jobs automatically based on printer status, media attributes, and stacker availability.
Prevent jobs from being split across multiple output trays or stackers.
Evaluate stacker capacity before job release.
Automatically reroute jobs to alternate printers or output destinations when capacity constraints or device conditions exist.
Support external program execution during workflow processing to update JDF instructions and workflow decisions.
Enable attribute transfer from Optimizer/BatchBuilder into RPD for automated decision making.
This functionality is required to support KRF's smart factory deployment, EVT activities beginning in December 2026, and production testing beginning in January 2027. The same capability is expected to be applicable to future highly automated production print environments beyond this specific customer opportunity.
