Be able to run scripts as an "exit" from a given step on failure in that step

Why is it useful? Example error in Print step, to be able to call a script to determine what action to take. At the moment, that step is atomic, and requires manual intervention to move a job to a script step

Who would benefit from it? Anyone seeking automation of failures in currently atomic steps

How should it work? Define a script in a step property value, and be able to call that script depending on the context of the step and what it does, and how it may hold processing on failures of that step

Excellent news, Linda, thanks for this. We would never have spotted this in the Help

You're in luck! This function already exists in RICOH ProcessDirector. I am attaching a PDF of the InfoCenter topic that describes how to set up the step to run when a job enters the Error state for a step. Basically you test for the value of the Current job state property to equal Error as you branch out of the step and you can define whatever next step(s) to run.

This function was added in Version 3.6.
